Below is the interface to a database I created in 2012. (Database and GUI not created using Python.)

We use it a lot; Especially to print labels for Christmas cards and letters.

Create a database containing information about family and friends. Create a GUI to access it. (It does not need to look like the one below. Make it your own.)

Things to Think About

• load database
• save database
• each record has a unique ID (integer)
• add, delete, modify records
• mark records as in or not in the Christmas list
• name
• Phone numbers
• email address
• mailing label name (e.g. Mr and Mrs Holmes and family)
• mailing label address (street, apartment, state, zip code, etc.)

• perform searches (substring searches? Regex searches?)
• display search results
• display search results statistics
• sort search result (i.e. the order of data printed/displayed)
• database statistics (e.g. # of records, etc.)
• how do I print labels? (does Avery have a program that reads CSV files and prints labels?)
• what else would you like it to do?
